Dear You,
Have you ever imagined what it would be like if you took a chance on yourself?
Now I know you might be thinking, Zoe I already do this….but I mean seriously, withholding nothing, took a chance on you. As you all know, for me, right now this is new. But I am really betting on me. As I am setting out to create this life that I want, I think, what can I not do? I want you to think the same thing. If there were no boundaries positioned in front of me what would I do? Some things that I am trying to do are: go out with myself on dates, unpack some heavy trauma in therapy and not be afraid of what the outcome might be, taking medication again and sticking to it, doing activities alone (Pilates, skating, going to the movies, shopping, solo dates as aforementioned), being more intentional about devotional time, and trying new things that either I’m not good at yet or I have never done.
The quote that comes to my mind often on this journey is: “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
When we really look at our self-discovery journeys or our journey to our best self, it is never the doubt, the worry, it is really the success, the “good side” of the what if, if you will. So today, I challenge you and I ask you, who are you not to be? Because you can be anything in this world, you can do anything in this world. As long as you pray and keep God first, there is NOTHING that will ever be impossible for you.
Love,
Me
